First experience with a gait belt although this is much more. The buckle works great and makes wearing it such a simple task for put on and removal.My mother has had 5 different physical and occupational therapists see and use this in the past week. Each one cannot believe they do not have these as standard issue in the Rehab facility which uses a belt with metal buckle that requires wrapping around the buckle with the loose end and tying it to prevent slippage. I can see that some may question the plastic buckle but I have used these on hiking gear and boating for years without a failure...they hold solid but you must be certain to engage them solidly. Also, they may not be adequate for use in persons over 300lbs where the load is placed on the buckle but that is my guess!

Exceptional quality. My dad has myasthenia gravis. It has progressed to a point now where medication isn't working. Falling is a major problem. He weighs around 230. 83 years old. Before I bought this, picking him up was near impossible. Yesterday he fell again. With this strapped around his waist, picking him up was so much easier. I had some concerns about the plastic buckle versus the steel buckle. But having been in the military so many years and most of our gear uses plastic buckles, I felt is was probably safe. This belt is well constructed from what I would consider Military grade nylon webbing. Multiple hand loops sewn in around the belt to allow 6 pair of hands to help lift the person wearing the belt. The belt is more than ample in size for larger people. And easily adjustable. For the price, the quality, this is an outstanding value. 10 stars from me, and my family.

Though the belt is adjustable it does not go down small enough for someone who weighs less than 125 lbs with a small frame. It is well made and safer than grabbing hold of an arm or trying to hold clothes it is loose on the person purchased for and turns easley around her body riding up higher than is comfortable for her, but again better than the alternative.

This came just in time! My 96-year-old father-in-law lives with us. He’s been having a hard time getting around. He uses a walker. But all the sudden he fell a few times and we started getting really worried. We should’ve ordered this earlier. The day after we got this, he was very shaky on his legs and we put it on him. It was easy and simple to move him from one sitting location to a wheelchair, etc....and has already saved many falls from happening . We can even use it to attach him to the wheelchair so he won’t fall out. I’m so thankful we have this! This is a very different gate belt than the ones used generally in rehab facilities. But those gate belts would not be nearly as helpful for us. I would buy this again in a heartbeat; hopefully months sooner…

This 60 inch belt is the same exact length as another brands 55 inch belt, and both barely fit a size 46 waist. I’m keeping it as it’s heavy duty & robust, & will just barely fit. Let the larger size buyer beware.

This is a great gait belt! I especially like that it has several hand holds in different configurations around the belt, so that you can always find a grip in the right place to securely stabilize the patient while you assist them into a chair or car, etc.Bought this to use after a family member recently took a down turn after a hospitalization. This has made helping transfer from bed to wheel chair, or from wheel chair into car, etc. for appointments so much easier. I feel more confident while helping to move them (as does the family member) because I have a much better grip on them, and they are securely held/stabilized while a chair is moved behind them, etc.I highly recommend this product to any family who has to care for an elderly or disabled patient.

Very sturdy and well made.... but TOO HEAVY for me (112 pounds).Like the fast release buckle, enabling me to adjust once and put on quickly... but did not adjust small enough to fit my waist.Good for a larger, heavier person, not a petite woman.

This is a great product for anyone having to lift a patient or someone prone to seizures or fainting. I've seen similar products sell for 4 times what I paid which allowed me to stretch my dollar and get two and still save money. These are very durable, easy to clean and should be line dried (no heat) since they are made out of nylon. The patient is comfortable wearing this in a standing, seated or laying position and most importantly, can be easily affixed in any position. Thank you for making this financially obtainable.
