Do you apply this after washing your hair?  If so,  do you use other styling products after applying this?

The instructions are : you can apply to damp or dry hair, massage through hair. Do not rinse and style as usual and can be used day or night.

Some of the products are called "roux leave in treatment" and others are called "roux fermodyl" what is the difference?

I'm not sure if there is a difference but I can say that there are so many different types of this product.  Some are made specifically for certain types of hair. I used to purchase at Sally Beauty supply and the store always recommended the correct formula for my hair.  Since Sally Beauty supply no longer carries the product in store, I purchase through Amazon, so its been hit and miss.  This most recent purchase has not been the best for my hair type.  I will try another formula of the Roux and this time I will pay special attention to the fact that "Fermodyl" is or is not listed for the product title.  I personally think it does make a difference for me in some way.  The Fermodyl products were always a success for me.  This most recent purchase smells nice but the results were less than what I expected from it.  I found it did not leave my hair in great shape but rather seemed to make it even more brittle.  You may want to research this product a little more.  It's difficult for me to find the right formula without the assistance store employees were able to provide.

How do you open?  I love the product but have to get the saw from the garage to open.

I break It open by pressing and bending the top where it is indented against the edge of a counter. The top usually stays on but the product comes out.
