This rug is incredible. Let me start off by saying I am a price shopper. I wanted a decent quality wool rug for our family room that I have just redecorated, and I couldn't find anything the size that I needed (large) for less than $3000. I found this and after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures posted by reviewers, I decided to take a chance (which I don't normally do with stuff this big that I can't see in person). Let me also say that I found almost this exact same rug at another online rug dealer selling for $3200! I couldn't believe the difference in price. I was bracing myself for a slight disappointment given the huge savings I was getting by ordering this one, and when it came I was overjoyed to discover that I liked this one better than any I had seen elsewhere! This rug is HEAVY!!! My husband and I could barely carry it inside (I ordered the 9 x 11) with just the two of us! We unrolled it and were just amazed at how beautiful it is, and how thick and lush and comfortable it is under our feet. It is truly perfect for a family room. YES, it sheds a lot just like every rug for the first few weeks, but has already slowed significantly. We are all in love with this rug and to date it is one of our favorite Amazon purchases!!!

I’ve bought several Safavieh rugs in all sizes. They are the best brand for oriental style rugs with excellent quality at a very reasonable price. They’re well made, durable, and look beautiful. The colors in this one are soft and subtle and will go with a wide variety of decor.

This is a lovely rug, well made and thick.

I’m extremely happy with my rug. The wool pile is soft, yet dense. It has the look and feel of a very expensive rug, at a fraction of the cost of high-end makers. I was looking at polyester “printed” rugs, because they are so cheap. I’m glad I chose a wool rug instead. They simply don’t compare. I’m also happy with this somewhat neutral color scheme that has a classic design motif. It pulls everything together nicely.

I was excited when I found this rug because it looked like a much more expensive rug for a lower price point. Others with a similar design and plushy feel are usually priced upwards of $1500 for the size we ordered (9’x12’). When it arrived I loved the look and feel. It’s very pretty colors, thick, and soft underfoot. I REALLY WANT to love this rug, but I just requested a return. The shedding is absolutely out of control!!! There is a layer of fuss on top of all my hardwood floors throughout the house. Even after vacuuming several times. Now I know why this rug was so affordable! Shedding is to be expected, but this is beyond what is normal for a wool rug. The shedding is so bad it feels like this item was determined to be defective by the manufacturer and product sent to Amazon to get rid of defect product at a low price point. I know that if I keep this rug I will get frustrated with the constant vacuuming. I’ve even noticed some unraveling along the edges of the rug after only a week in my family room. I’m annoyed because it’s large and awkward and have no idea how I’m going to get it back to Amazon for the return…save yourself the headache and DON’T BUY!!!! I’ve noticed that my throat feels itchy when in the house since getting this rug. It stops when we are out and about. Actually think the fuss is irritating us!

If I could give this rug ten stars, I would. It is amazing. I've struggled with rugs to relax and lay flat - not this rug. Right off of the hard cardboard roll, it settled out immediately. The colors are so beautiful and calming - very true to the photo. There is a bit of shedding, but I'm confident after a few runs with the vacuum will take care of that. The pile is perfect - not too high, not too low. I am thrilled. I highly recommend!

We have had this rug for over 10 yrs (kids, dog, cat, spills) and it looked brand new. My husband and I took a mini get away and I am pretty sure the kids (teens) had some (or many) people over for a mini vacation from us...All of the sudden there was a really stinky part on the rug. One I could not get to come out. It was the worst smell. So we had to buy another one - of the exact same rug. Very subtle. Mainly gold, small pieces of subdued red and overall kind of a green cast mixed in the beige. Like camo color underlying the beige - in a good way. Very thick and extremely sturdy. We never had a run or fraying and we are on it all the time.I would highly recommend. I am the rug queen and all but this one have worn out in a short time or been peed on/barfed on/ pooped on (see above). This one has too but it is so easy to clean. I know it is wool but we cleaned it with a Bissell water and solution cleaner we have. It handled it great. Also, you cannot see the normal dirt we all bring in. Hmm, such a good review I feel like I should buy it again.

I was so excited to have this beautiful new rug, but it was shipped with a big hole in it. Very disappointing. I went to return it, via Amazon's free shipping policy, but because it's over the 50 lb limit, I would have to pay for shipping. Very expensive to ship an 80 lbs rug. I shared the pics with the seller, and in the end, we were able to resolve the issue to my satisfaction.By the way, if you look at the picture of the rug on the floor, you can see the actual colors better.A comment about shedding. This is a pure wool rug. I've had others. Very thick weave. It is going to shed every time you vacuum it and shampoo it. A lot at the beginning. Every time you vacuum, you wonder how long that can go on for. It turns out, like 10+ years. And it still feels thick and luxurious, even near the end. It's basically the edges that start to wear out. The edges will wear out just like an inexpensive polypropylene rug that's thin and doesn't shed. This is my 3rd Safavieh wool rug. They all shed.
