aFe Power Magnum FORCE 54-11473 BMW 335i (E90/92/93) Performance Intake System (Oiled, 5-Layer Filter)

After much, much research and debate, this is the intake I decided to go with for my 08 335i. Absolutely love it. Package came on time, as described, well packed in OEM packaging. Installation was VERY easy, installed dual BOV's and a charge pipe at the same time. IIRC the OEM box was actually even packed inside another box for extra safety (I THINK it was, its been a few months). The intake sounds great, the sound is quite pronounced from it, in a healthy, throaty way - doesn't sound ricey or like hissing at all. Only downside? Makes you want to wind out your gears and not let off the gas :) Love it, would buy from this seller again any day.

Dave E's review hit this on the head. I agree with him 100%The hardest part for me was getting the kidney's off the front grill (BMW has those things in there good!) you have to get your hand in-between the bumper and the radiator and get in at an angle and apply a lot of force to get it out - huge PITA but managed to get it after about 20 mins)Second hardest part was getting battery cables off the stock airbox and accessing the hose clamp in the back what Dave said - be patient and get 1/4 turns in about once every 30 seconds until it comes loose. Tightening is easier because you can re-position the clamp for better attack angle when sealing everything up.The heat shield fit great. The dynamic scoops needed a little torsion and twisting to bend the metal to get it in there and fitting - but they do fit after a little tweaking.All in all this intake shouldn't be $400 - I think 225 / 275 with the scoops would be much better value and I could give it 5 stars and be happy - but I feel like given the quality and materials, 400$ is a crapshoot - its not 400$ in quality / materials.Intake noise is def there and sounds good. It sounds like an airey raise in an EDM song.You can hear the blowoff / wastage now and before you couldn't.Butt dyno says no noticeable difference.Installed on 335isLooks cool.

Good clean look for your BMW 335. I wanted something a bit different than two air filters sitting in the middle of the drive side of the motor, this fits the bill. Looks clean, has a box that keeps warm away and has a bracket that will allow the stock cold air feed to route closer to the front air filter.

I was looking for an upgrade to my 2007 BMW 335i convertible and saw this product on Amazon. I read the reviews and was pretty excited about what it delivered for $400. ~ an additional 27HP at the wheel and sounding like a jet engine as one review put it. The product arrived faster than expected, even though I had selected the slow free shipping option. So that was a plus. It was pretty easy to install, if you are somebody that does your own oil changes for example, it will be pretty easy. If you have never worked on a car before, you will still be able to do this if you are willing and patient. The only tricky part I had was loosening the clamp on the hose at the back of the stock unit, somebody else has already mentioned that. It is a pretty small space and if you have big hands you may want to get somebody with small hands to help. It took less than an hour to install the air intake system, I bet I could do it in less than 30 minutes now I know what to do. The scoops added a little bit of time, one of the expanding rivets was welded and I could not get the pin out without breaking it. The BMW PN for that item is 51471919209. I went to my local BMW dealer and it was only a $1.53 item, as I only wanted one, they just gave it to me. Thank you BMW of Austin, much appreciated! With everything successfully installed, I excitedly fired up the engine and it really didn’t sound any different to me. I took it out for a drive and still I didn’t really hear anything much. There was at time a pleasing swooshing tone coming from it, but nothing like the jet engine sound described by another reviewer. I do think it added some throttle response, although as I have only had the car a week I am not really qualified to say whether that made a noticeable difference over stock. My rating of 3 stars is due to being disappointed with the lack of tone that I was expecting. Overall I wouldn’t recommend spending $400, now that I know what it delivers. I did have a question asking if it was needed to oil the cones before installation for the guys at aFe and they answered it within an hour (Not required, they are pre-oiled), so thanks for that guys. Good to know there is support when needed.

Fits perfect, frees up a lot of space under the hood. Sounds cool allows to hear the turbos a bit better. I doubt much of a performance gain without a tune.

Very simple install and exactly what I was looking for. If you've never been under the hood of a car before, don't distress. There are tons of write ups on the install for both this online. This does come with the aluminum intake scoops that are placed behind the front kidney grills, which is awesome! They are typically sold separate from the intake itself and run for an extra $100. I did not expect to find this at all on Amazon.

Awesome product and quality build. Only thing I would have liked to have seen is the grommets to place the heat shield and hold it. I did not have the factory intake s I upgraded from DCI. Very aesthetically pleasing.

Very easy to install and such a needed add. I have loved having this on my car and would buy it over and over. The entire install process tool just under 30 mins and added a noticeable amount of power.
