Schwalbe Pro One TLE Evo Folding Tyre // 25-584 (650 x 25B) Super Race

I mounted these tires on a brand new pair of Light Bicycle 28 mm wide carbon road wheels. The inside rim width on these wheels is 22 mm with a hooked bead. I let the tires sit out in the sun for a little while to warm them up and they mounted by hand with no tools using soapy water only. I used stands sealant and they inflated easily with the compressor. I was immediately struck by how great these tires feel/Sound on the carbon wheels. However, I only have 1285 miles on them so far and I’ve had four punctures on the front tire that sealed immediately. Interestingly, the cuts were all about seven or 8 mm laterally from the centerline of the tire. That’s about exactly where the puncture resistant strip ends. It doesn’t really matter that they punctured, since the sealant does it’s job almost instantly. Even so, my continental GP 5000 tires with tubes lasted 2300 miles without a single puncture. Conclusion: a very good road tire that’s easier to mount than the GP 5000… If that’s important to you, this tire has an edge. It’s also slightly less expensive than the GP 5000 and only slightly slower in terms of rolling resistance according to published statistics.. I am a satisfied customer, but my next tire will be GP 5000 TL.7/25/21 update: I continued to ride these Schawlow pro 1 tires until I had 1650 miles on the rear. At that time, I was involved in a crash in which I skidded the rear tire. I didn’t notice it until I was halfway through a 40 mile ride but I had a 1 inch section of cord showing where I skidded. I had to swap out the tire when I got home, but I think it would’ve lasted another two or 300 miles if I hadn’t skidded. Overall I’m very satisfied with the ride and the durability. The 30 mm version was a very good tire for me.
