Q: Can I use these for greenware?

Yes. They actually work wonderfully on both green ware and bisque ware. I have experimented with them at cone 4 ", 6 & 8, and with a clear glaze over. I used them to carve/scrafitto on leather hard clay as well. Great results! Keep in mind that these have a bit of shine to them. The thicker the layers of glaze the shinier. I recommend over glazing with clear to ensure a good food safe seal. There has never been any bleeding or off putting color burnout at the higher temps. Have fun!

Q: How would i achieve a matte finish with these? apply on bisque or green ware? do i fire after i use the underglaze?

No, they do not have a matte finish. the finish is semi-glossy/satin. Do not expect a matte finish. You may apply them on bisque or greenware however, I achieve better result if I bisque the ware then apply the underglaze bisque again, then apply clear glaze over the entire piece for the glaze firing. I take the extra step of re-bisquing after applying the underglaze to ensure the underglaze does not move or flow when firing with finish over glaze. Some over glazes can pull or feather the underglaze so the result is not as sharp and crisp as you'd like it to be. This happens rarely with these particular glazes, in fact I have only seen it once in combination with a semi-transparent glaze fired to cone 9. But I work in a community arts center and there are lots of variables and I don't pay for the extra bisque firing. I created some test vases for these glazes and tried various combinations and varying cones... I suggest you do the same. Happy experimenting!

They can all be mixed together with no change in the end results. Best to use a food safe clear glaze on top of them like Duncan Clear Brilliance Clear Glaze - Amazon item# B004DERN90
