Q: Does the stopper fit into the strainer and used together at the same time? Or does the strainer and stopper have to be used separately?

The stopper doesn't fit very well so apparently they should be used separately. However I find the stopper doesn't fit well enough in the drain opening to be of any use. I found this item to be a complete waste of money.

Q: Is the rim of strainer stainless steal, it seems very shiny for stainless. The picture shows it to be duller like most stainless.

It is chromed stainless. I’ve had them for a few months and they work well. The stopper is not great. It does not seal well and with the large upright handle it is easy dislodged.

Q: Can this be used on a square drain?

Maybe. Depends how big the square drain is and how big the lip is on the strainer part.

Q: Will this fit a sink with a 3 and 1/4 inch opening? I see a lot of strainers for a 3 and 1/2 inch opening in the sink but mine is only 3 and 1/4".

My drain opening is the same size. It doesn't stop the water from going drain.
