Much easier and probably cheaper than building your own.
I was thinking about making a backyard goal for my son out of pvc or wood but after doing some research online I came across this goal. This goal isn't much more expensive than a net so I took a chance. We couldn't be happier with our choice.Set up was quick an easy; my 8 year old son and I put this together completely in 15-20 minutes. The frame comes in about 10 pieces that snap together easily. While I was initially concerned about it's stability, once we got the net attached it was fine. I did not use the rope to attach the net but rather zip ties place every 6 inches. The goal has a tendency to lean forward since it's so light but we put a weight on the back and had no problem with it. It holds up well to shots. I played lacrosse in college and have thrown some pretty hard shots that have hit the pipes and it doesn't seem to phase the goal.I would definitely recommend buying this as a backyard goal. It's well worth the money.

Sturdy
Some said that the goal wasn’t durable and was hard to put together. Ours has survived a season so far and is still going strong. Net was very easy to put together and still have no holes. Only thing we need to do is put a cinder block on the back so it doesn’t tip but our yard isn’t very level. Great goal

So far, so good
Seems pretty durable. This is a regulation sized goal. The net was a bit of a pain to get strung (maybe 90min) but seems like this will do the trick.

One of the top goals of 2017, worth every penny
If you are looking for a quality backyard goal that won't break the bank, BUY THIS GOAL.We've had it for a week now, and the only thing I see is that we have to tighten the net string, as we've broken in the net.Otherwise, this thing is sturdy, solid, yet light weight compared to other steel goals. And you could disassemble it easily if you need to store it for the winter or anything. We've recommended this to several new parents in our lacrosse community. This thing was rated one of the top 10 goals for this season. 6x6, it's perfect for practicing in the backyard.I see a few negative comments and bad reviews, and all I can say is, ignore those. The bulk of them are complaining about threading the net. It's tedious, that's it. My 12 year old and I put this entire thing up (netted and all) in about 20 minutes or so.I also recommend putting a sandbag or paver stone or something weighted on the back corner to make sure it doesn't fall forward if it's not on perfectly leveled ground or if you live in a windy city.

Seems good, just assembled.
Recommend, as others have mentioned, using zip ties in addition to the string. Seems sturdy and durable for what it is, will advise if it doesn’t hold up

Official size
The net is great, I didn’t realize it was so large (official size ) the picture looks smaller and I guess I didn’t read the description correctly so my husband built the net in the living room lol so that was fun to get outside. The net was great once we got it outside and my son practices everyday !

No Issues, Sees Regular to Heavy Use from HS Age Boys
Easy to assemble. After reading other reviews prior to purchasing where others reported issues with having not enough rope to attach the net to the frame, I opted to use zip ties from the start. If that's the way you go with your assembly, make sure you go heavy duty on the zip ties.I purchased and assembled this net in March. It has seen heavy, regular use for 7 months now not only from just my 3 boys, but their neighborhood friends as well. 2 of them are HS age so the net sees some pretty good, hard shots. No issues to speak of in that time period other than replacing zip ties that get blasted off.

Excellent Lax Goal
Very sturdy frame and much easier to assemble than anticipated. The netting is strong and durable, strong enough to last multiple seasons!
