Red Star GlutenFree Active Dry Yeast, 0.25 Ounce (Pack of 9)

The red Star yeast is the very best functioning best value for the money that I have ever bought. The dough rises high and the bread turns out beautiful every time! It works fast and well.

This particular yeast is much more expesive that if you went to walmart or your local grocery store to purchase it. BUT...a BIG BUT....it is absolutely GRAIN FREE. For those of us that suffer from celiac or food issues this IS the yeast to buy. Look at the ingredients! YEAST. Thats it. NOT grown on grain. I contacted the company on this a year or two ago to make sure. This has been my go to with NO issues!!! It has a shelf life of the other glutenated yeast so that is not an issue. I guess if you want to make gluten free bread or sourdough bread (with yeast added for that extra rise) you will pay for it. I dont look at the prices any more. SO...yes, its a great value for the money because my baked goods are good and not flat!

I didn't use it until today and found it is better than any other yeasts I have bought. You can use it for both Western bread and Chinese Steamed buns. The taste is better.

The only yeast that I could find which didn't have a preservative in it. Even the Red Star jar has it in it.

Great value for active yeast

I keep Red Star Gluten Free Active Dry Yeast stocked in our house because my husband makes pizza regularly and this is the only yeast he wants to use. He has tried other brands, but always comes back to this one because it works so consistently. The dough rises well every time and it gives the pizza crust a great texture. The small packets are also convenient because you can use exactly what you need without worrying about a larger container losing freshness. At this point it has become a staple in our kitchen. If you bake bread or make homemade pizza often, this is a reliable yeast to keep on hand.

We have a septic tank and I pour 1 packet of yeast into my toilet, once a month, flush once and leave everything alone overnight. It works as good or better than RID and costs way less. Works just the same and the tank doesn't need cleaned/pumped as often. Hopefully this is worded right! 🙃

Came to me on time. Red Star is the only yeast that I use!
