Fast, light, and loud
Was pleasantly surprised by this small motor. It went together very easily. Just obtain some gear oil and add to fill hole. Started on the second pull. And after that the first pull for the first test session. It needs a wrist strap for the kill switch. No big deal. It’s super light and was easy to mount on my 8.5 dinghy. With two men it was reasonably zippy. There was 10knot winds and we had no issues making good progress around the bay. There is no idle or reverse gear. Just throttle down for idle. You can spin the control arm 180 to reverse. A little awkward but acceptable given how simple the operation.Just had it one day. Will add remarks after a few weeks of use.

Do not purchase
I bought this motor on a budget for my Jon boat waited 2 weeks and was excited to take the boat out. You definitely get what you pay for wish I hadn’t purchased it and gotten something better. The pull cord broke the second day of having it. I opened up the pull cord to fix and the cheap recoil spring sprung all over the place. The motor is extremely loud not good to run with kids in the boat I could barely hear myself after taking it out the first time.

Great Motor for my Porta-Bote
Yes, it is a little noisy but pushed my 10' boat thru the water leaving a wake behind the boat. Seems to get good gas mileage as a full tank lasted the whole day as we traveled from spot to spot and only used 1/2 of tank of gas. Easy to assemble! Clamps onto the boat transom easily. You get a tool kit all included in a pouch. Great Motor for a reasonablr price.

Really loud
This motor has been great! It does exactly what you expect it to do. It fires up after a few pulls and pushes the boat faster than a trolling motor. It’s a weedwacker with a prop, it’s loud, and I love it. If you are covering long distances I would recommend ear protection. I drove about a mile straight at full speed a few times and didn’t have any problems.

Selling Faulty Motors
Motor would not turn over, took it to the man who sold it locally. Will tell you that you must disconnect the Safety kill switch for the product to turn over. I still cannot get it to turn over after his instructions.Selling faulty motors where you need to manually unplug wires and leaving them disconnected? That is unacceptable.Do not recommend purchasing because you cannot return something with motor oil in it.

LOUD
Although the price is right it is very loud has a flimsy kill cord that comes off easily. Also if you don’t follow starting instructions to the tee it will flood and not start.
