This product is designed as a pain relief product for arthritis. According to data presented on the AMAZON page, it is a gel that contains the active ingredient Diclofenac Sodium at a concentration of 1%. The is absorbed directly through the skin and it provides anti-inflammatory action. The active ingredient, Diclofenac Sodium, is considered an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) and can cause serious side-effects if overused or used improperly. Follow the instructions provided with the product circular for the proper use of this product.I have found this product to work quite well, but because it is also an NSAID, I use it sparingly. So far, it has not caused me any trouble and it does not smell bad, leave my skin greasy, or cause any irritation. I am happy with the performance of the product.

Pricey but best product available. I really is effective, actually amazingly for a topical. Pills not needed and that is a great result.

Great OTC relief for knees, hands, joints. Slightly greasy when you first put it on but just keep rubbing it in.

I placed this on my wrist for 21 days for Dequervains tenosynovitis. It really did help to reduce the inflammation, but it was only temporary and, when I stopped applying this, the inflammation came right back. Looks like I'm going to have to get a steroid injection.The really BAD thing about this product is that it is HIGHLY TOXIC TO CATS. If you have cats, you'll have to go to extreme lengths to prevent them from getting exposed to ANY of this stuff. Even a tiny amount on your hands can be transmitted to them by petting and they will groom it off of their hair. If it gets on anything and they come into contact with it, it can also kill them. I shut off my bathroom, so my cats couldn't get in there, and was only applying this in the bathroom and then immediately washing my fingers that I used to apply it. Then, I would wait 15 minutes, being careful to not let the gel get on anything (except my wrist where I had applied it) and then I would wrap my wrist carefully and wash my hands, again, before going out of the bathroom. I would remove the wrap in the bathroom, throw it in a covered garbage can, and then wash my hands and wrist carefully. Seriously, if you have cats and you aren't willing and able to take careful measures to prevent them from coming into contact with any of this stuff, no matter how small of an amount, then don't use it.

I'm very familiar with this product as my doctor had prescribed it many years ago when it was by prescription only. It is now way more affordable as over the counter, with the same medication that helps. It's not a medication that is meant to work right away, it needs time to build up. It has helped me. And I like the new cap that makes it easy to use with one hand without a lot of work.
