I’ve been using Kingsford charcoal for better than 50 years. Oh I’ve tried other brands on occasion but always return to Kingsford. It lights easily, burns long with consistent heat and always gives what ever you’re grilling that desirable smoky charcoal flavor.

The coal pieces are palm-sized and stack well. I use a torch to light the stack that way I can avoid any lighter fluid or starter gases. The coals fire up after burning for a few minutes and get real hot when they start showing some white. I use charcoal baskets to aid in heat control and it makes it easier to manage the coals. I have had temperatures from above 450° to a steady controlled burn at 225°, all with Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes.
