Amazing!
GREAT!! Having tried other brands, this is my number #1 choice when I have sick, feral cats in my colonies. I feed close to 27, TNR'd cats in multiple locations & when they show up w weepy eyes, sneezing &/or signs of upper respiratory distress, I mix this in w wet food, adding a little warm water. The results have been amazing! Usually, I see results after the 2nd feeding. I just had a very sick male, I think he may have FIV but a URI was hitting him hard, he had stopped eating because he couldn't smell through the nose congestion.. I used sardines mixed w canned, tuna cat food & a little warm water w this Lysine mixed in.. he was in bad shape but the smell was enough to trigger him to eat & by day 3, he was remarkably improved, he's almost back to himself again. -- For feral colonies, this is perfect to help their immune systems! Not much is used each time so it lasts a while, a good value for the price. -- I use it regularly now for all the outdoor cats, I do recommend adding it to wet food w a little water so it dissolves. Trust me, this stuff is great for URI & weepy eye issues!

Great product and cats love it!
I like giving this supplement to my cats on a daily basis to reinforce their immune system, Specially to the stray cats that I feed daily.

Great stuff for feline herpes; plus, a cautionary tale and a solution to a problem
I purchased this as a replacement for another brand (Viralys) that I had been getting through my vet. One of our kitties had a "cold" when we adopted her. That "cold" just wouldn't clear up. She had a weepy eye and sneezles for weeks. When we took her to the vet, the vet said it was kitty herpes and prescribed the Viralys (at $30 a container). It's l-lysine in powder form; you sprinkle it on the cat food. There is no cure for feline herpes, but l-lysine helps clear up the symptoms. (For those who want to know how l-lysine helps, The Cat Doctor & Friends in Santa Clarita says, "We use L-Lysine to fool your cat's herpes virus into self-destructing by using L-Lysine, instead of another amino acid Arginine, when making new copies of itself. This decreases the amount of herpes virus in your cat's body and hopefully eliminates clinical signs such as sneezing or squinting one eye and reddish brown discharge. Green or yellow discharge from your cat's eye or nose is probably not feline herpes and deserves a veterinary visit.") The Viralys l-lysine powder not only worked great, clearing up the weepy eye and drippy nose within a remarkably short amount of time, it was also loved by all our kitties. (The vet said it wouldn't hurt any of them to eat it.) However, at $30 a container, and with the stupid mistake I made that wasted half a container (see below), I wanted to find a less expensive alternative. And I did. This product, the Tomlyn Scientifics l-lysine, seems to be identical to the Viralys, and costs half what my vet was charging me. My one concern was whether it would taste as good to the kitties, and it does indeed seem to. == My Stupid Mistake and How You Can Avoid It == When I first got the Viralys from my vet, I made a stupid mistake. I used the little scoop that comes with the powder to sprinkle the lysine powder on the cat food, and then I used the scoop to stir the powder into the food. Then I returned the scoop to the container. Those of you who are familiar with good sanitation practices will be able to predict what happened next: after a while, the tiny crumbs of cat food I had inadvertently transferred to the container gave birth to new life. In a few weeks, I saw suspicious little clumps and balls in the powder. I threw out the rest of the powder rather than risk making my kitties sick. After thinking about what I could do to prevent wasting my kitties' medicine (and my money), I realized the solution: put the powder into a shaker container so it never gets contaminated. After shopping around, I purchased the Kaiser Bakeware La Forme Select Sugar/Spice Shaker Set (available here on Amazon), which is just the right size for the powder. I'm using the shaker lid with the largest holes. Now all is well.

Because his breath wreaked like fish constantly and I wanted a break from smelling ...
Since I picked up my Exotic Shorthair (lazy man's Persian), he has nothing but sneezed and had runny eyes, which I thought to be at the time overly excessive (even given the flat face breed). I gave this to him right off the bat and didn't see any significant changes or improvement...until I stopped. Why did I stop? Because his breath wreaked like fish constantly and I wanted a break from smelling his stinky breath . No big deal since it really didn't improve his current conditions, right? Big mistake. This must have warded off all the severe symptoms! This was nothing like when I first got him... Fast forward only 2-3 days since I had stopped giving L-lysine powder. His one eye is constantly in the squinting phase, he sounds SO congested and sneezes so much (more so than normal for the breed). His sneezing attacks usually occur once he stirs from a nap or overly exerts himself. In addition, he had this nasty goo forming under his left eye (the one with the squinting). I took him to the vet and $133 later, was told he most likely has Herpes . Yay. Apparently about 90% of URI are HPV related. Affects cats way differently than humans! He is now on a 10-14 regime with braod spectrum antibiotics and eye ointment, none of which were cheap. I don't think these will hurt but I also am even more certain that stopping the L-lysine powder had a lot to do with his fast decline. My suggestion: Do a lot of research and if you are uncertain, this stuff won't hurt. The vet suggested right now given his bad state that I double up since you can't OD on this stuff. If you stop administrating this powder on a daily basis as upkeep, you may run into my situation and end up with a poor, little sick guy. Always confirm with your Vet! PS I would have given this five stars but it makes my cat breath STINK. Maybe it's just bc I have low to no tolerance for anything fish but hopefully they can change this to something less offensive in the future. And for those wondering, I put this on his dry food and it sticks with no problem, with very little accumulating at the bottom of the bowl.

Wonderful! CURED 5 kittens w/ feline herpes when the vets could not! Good brand, less expensive & works as well!
Works well. A couple eat it plain & I can mix it into wet food & they eat it. All my rescues had feline herpes ( one from the litter had to have an eye removed! He's heathy & in a good home now though!) so badly they couldn't open their eyes & we had to wash their faces with warm water every few hours. After several vet visits & a lot of bills & expensive eye ointments, pills etc. nothing was working. I found online an article on giving the cats 500mg of lysine 1-2x a day . Well I would have tried anything! That was 4 years ago- All the cats are FREE from any issues. I only give this once in awhile for maintenance & if I even think I see a leaky eye! But the lysine after about 4-6 months of daily use, cleared up all the cats ( 5 then) from any signs of issues! No more expensive & useless eye goop & pills that to pill a cat you better be in a hazmat with a space grade covering over that! Ugh I now tell everyone to put their cats with any signs of feline herpes ( crusty, leaky eyes & noses) to use lysine ! At first I gave 500 mg 2x a day to each. After it clears up a tiny scoop in their wet food keeps it at bay. After several months of constant use, they can be cured or at least my cats have not had any signs of flare ups in almost 4 years. I give this now in wet food that they all eat, 1-2 tiny ( included) scoops for a few days every couple months. The vets did nothing, the mess they gave did nothing but cost me a lot of money & my animals still suffered. This suppresses the virus in humans ( lysine pills, lip ointment ) so I suppose it works similar in animals. But it cured 5 cats for years+ . I'm so happy I found out about this. This brand works just as well as the more expensive brand I use to buy in the very beginning . I've even crushed up human lysine pills & given them that. This is easier ( cost a bit more but once it's under control , you will have this container for a long while!) Good luck & health to all your fur babies! Jenn~

Support for feline immune system in a multicat household
We have a three cat household, and it's important to us that all three cats stay healthy. Lysine is a good supplement to support immune function in felines, and all three of our roommates get a good slosh of this stuff with every meal. NOne of them have ever balked at the taste or texture, and they gobble up all their food. They've stayed healthy and feisty and very much themselves, and what could be better? Check with your vet, but lysine has been very good for our household.

Work quickly
I received my order quickly. I couldn't find the other immune supplement that i ordered last time so I decided to go with this one. My cat has FIV. To my surprised this immune supplement worked on the very first day. The last supplement i had used took a week to start to work for my poor boy. So I am very pleased with my choice to go with this. My boy loves the flavor, gives him a nice soft shiny coat as well. Helps with his eyes, nose, his breathing and anything else that helps him with. It is a white power and has a spoon that comes with it. The size of the jar is pretty decent size. He gets it every morning in his food. I definitely recommend this!

Saves feline Lives!
My Vet told me about this years ago. It saved my cat's life! She is a rescue off the streets about 15 years ago. She is FIV, so very susceptible to myriad infections. She has been near death so often...but has been well for years now. I feed 2 feral colonies. They are all TNR, so they live comfortably as possible outside. One colony that feed, mix 2 scoops into the wet food on top of their dry food. They are now so strong and healthy! My at home colony is pretty picky, so I am now gradually increasing everyday with a very small sprinkle. This product is best when moistened first, so that it dissolves. NO more URI, no eye infections! This even helps when injured and when I can feed special one-on-one...it helps for fast healing. I would never have ANY cats without L-Lysine. This is best function at best cost.

It works :))
We're really happy with this. My cat has had on and off problems with his eyes for years. Despite all efforts he kept getting problems. Since giving him this product with his food ( took him a couple of feeds to get used to it ) he's not had a problem for a long time now and seems happy and healthy

Easy to use
Seems to work well for weepy eyes (but doesn't get rid of it entirely), I mix it with wet food and my boy doesn't seem to notice the taste. Easy to use with the scoop.
