Birds Choice WGORANGE Weatherguard, Weather-Resistant Acrylic Bird Feeder Weatherguard, 13", Orange

I bought this to provide shade so my metal-bottom hummingbird feeder doesn’t get so hot. It got so hot in the direct sunlight and the birds weren’t using it most of the day. And the heat also causes the nectar to ferment. This doesn’t shade the feeder from the morning and late afternoon light, but it does protect it when the sun is overhead during the peak of the day. The birds use it more frequently now, and I don’t have to worry about constantly changing the nectar. I do have one male that gets confused by it. He circles guard looking for the nectar ports and eventually works his way down and finds it. The females go straight to the nectar points. I figure he refuses to stop and ask for directions.

I ordered the red ones - 5 of them! Shades the feeder nicely so nectar stays fresher a little longer. Birds seem to like it too. A cool spot to rest on a hot day. AND a dry spot on a rainy one. I use it with a small feeder with a perch. I have five of them placed close to large barrel planters loaded with their favorite flowers. I have happy hummers!

It rained multiple times a day, multiple days in a row for an unusually long time in my area. After a long rain it became obvious to me that my sugar water was getting diluted and the birds didn't like it so they wouldn't come around. These were a perfect size for my feeders because they are pretty large and a little heavy (glass), and I noticed the birds now seek out my feeders when it's raining because they know the sugar water will still be good there. It's a little pricey, but it all seems sturdy and able to last a good amount of seasons. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the birds weren't afraid of the guards at all when they went up.

Order this red cover for my new humming bird feeder. I also ordered a separate mote for the ants that attached right under this cover.. I then attached the humming bird feeder. This cover shades the feeder and keeps the feeder nearly level in the wind. the humming birds found the feeder in one day. I also attached an umbrella to shade the feeder so the sugar water does not get hot. Works perfectly. Not a cheap solution but really works.

I have some of the clear weatherguard you purchase at Fred Meyer, but this one is lovely, The red brings some cheer in the winter. I plan to buy more in different colors to make my feeder more decorative. I do wish it were a tad bit larger to make sure no rain drips on the feeder/seed.

We put this bright orange weather guard on the Solution4Patio Baltimore Oriole Feeder Hummingbird Combination. It keeps the rain & the squirrels away and makes it very beautiful.We put the red weather guards & the yellow weather guards above our woven bird houses and above our bird feeder balls. Really beautiful!

This product is so pretty and looks like it will last a long time as well as provide shade. The only problem is that I think the hummingbirds are afraid of it. They have not shown up since I put it up. Hopefully they will become accustomed to it. It will be a shame if they don't. I know they can be skiddish. "Update". The hummingbirds have returned! They have become accustomed to it, and they actually fly around it to check it out. It does provide nice shade and I am very happy with this purchase. Would purchase it again.

The media could not be loaded.  Mine is in red color. Radiates bright red color around and leaves orange shadow on a green grass. It protects feeder nicely from rain, it is durable. Little bit pricey;however, I have no regrets. One thing is that it swings from side to side when windy.

This is my second one I’ve purchased. I love it so much I wanted another for my backyard. I’ve used my first one for at least 3 years now and they’re fabulous. Keeps most of the snow and rain off the feeder. Depending how low your feeder is hanging of course, but it’s a quality made cover. Don’t hesitate if you want to protect your feeder from getting water logged or covered in snow. Works great!

It’s great works well but it’s more of a translucent orange when outside vs yellow. When it’s inside against a white backing it looks yellow but outdoors it appears more see through than the red and more orange than vibrant yellow

I absolutely love this weather guard. It's not only really attractive but it keeps the little hummingbirds dry during the rainy days and in the shade during the sunny ones. Would 100% recommend it.

Good product but was the only 1 of 4 purchased in different colours to have several very small manufacturing defects in the polycarbonate cover.

Would like to have a wider version as well
