Ibanez Gio GRG7221QA Electric Guitar - Transparent Blue Burst

I'd never played a 7 string before - we got this as an Xmas gift for one of my kids, and as i play guitar too, i had to give it a try.I admit there's a learning curve to trying a 7 string when you're used to 6. It feels a little intimidating with the width of the neck and just working out what the heck to do with that extra string. But man, once you get used to it - metal riffing is just a whole new level, even for a "basement amateur" like me.This guitar played well right out of the box. No need to adjust the action or anything. I'm no expert, but the neck and body feel really well crafted for a guitar of this price point. The pickup selector options are great - i'm predominately a neck pickup sorta guy and the tones this guitar can put out in different pickup selections is outstanding.Highly recommend if you're looking for a budget 7 string that plays like a pro! Ibanez have always been known for their quality and this model keeps that reputation alive.

I've been playing 6 string for a while. Currently my main 6 string is an ibanez prestige. This doesn't compare 1 to 1 to a prestige (Obviously) but if you are just getting into 7 string this is a solid pick up.

I often forget that I only paid $250 for this. It's not a be all end all by any stretch of the imagination, but you definitely get your money's worth.In my experience, though, the pickups are kind of loud, and I need to use an attenuator with some of my devices. My attenuator does -15db, and that does the trick for me.

Never owned a 7 string guitar so this was a trial as much as anything. really plays great and feels well balanced. Glad I tried something new.

Color and finish are fabulous. Frets are good, tuners stay in tune. The only complaint I have is I can't seem to get the buzz out of the bridge. I will try disassembling and reassembling the bridge parts and find out if that works.
