Before I installed this regulator I gave it a good looking over. Looks to be well made and thoroughly lubricated. It was a perfect fit and functioned smoothly and quietly. What's Better My original old regulator failed when the plastic rivets connecting the output gear to the lift arm sheered. While plastic sheer rivets seem like a good idea on paper, in practice they seem only an Achilles heel. The new regulator from Dorman uses steel rivets so this failure mode is gone. More Details Of course you will need to reuse your old motor but you will also need to move over your old rubbing block and this is very easy to move over from the old lift. I included a picture of this old part after I put it on the new regulator. What Might Be Better At the price point of this item it is a good value. The only thing I changed about it was the lubricant. I felt it could move more easily if I applied my own lubricant choices so I removed the factory lubricant and applied ones of my choosing. It did move more easily. Just a personal preference.

If you know about Lucas, you know. To those who have never used a grease gun before, nowhere do they tell you to remove the bottom plastic cap before you insert the cartridge into the grease gun. In fact you have to tear off the bottom of the plastic marketing sleeve to do so. You'd think it wouldn't cost them a million dollars to perforate the bottom of the sleeve and to put a little note to remove that cap. I know it would be asking way too much to have them put a pull tab on the bottom of the sleeve so there's no doubt about the removal. Please don't assume your customers knows more than you do about your product.

Grease was fine, package arrived in Amazon paper bag. Not a box. Tube was open in bag. Slightly messy. Went into the grease gun ok. Product 5 Star. Shipping 3 Star.

This is mostly review about the shipping. Which can be super sketchy with Amazon. This tube showed up undamaged. Purchase because I have a history with this grease and just wanna keep using the same stuff. (this is my everyday grease. I use royal purple for the high-end stuff.)
