Excellent finish, easy to apply, fast cleanup, sprayable
I’ve used this finish a number of times with good results.Recently, I made a sofa slab table from Bocote. I gave it 5 coats of this poly, sanding and tack ragging between coats.I applied the 5th and final coat with an small Paasche HVLP spray guy and it came out perfect. See the photos.I did have to sand the brushed coats and I used 600 paper. The final spray coat did not require any sanding or buffing. The price on this product has increased dramatically. I paid $52 a gallon in June, 2021 and as of late October, 2022, the price is $88 a gallon! Wow - that’s really reaming the customer! Hope that helps.

Just buy it
This is the best polly I've ever used , you can just slap it on and it self levels , no brush lines at all and it dries pretty quick too ...would buy again

Does not darken the wood, low sheen can be difficult to work with.
I am a house painter. I have worked with both the oil based Polyurathane and now this water-based Polyurathane. The oil based is slightly easier to apply and after a few coats (2-4) will dry evenly without residue. The problem with all oil-based Polyurathane products is that they will always darken the wood even listed as "clear" in color. Only this water based Polyurathane product will go onto medium or light wood with little to no darkening or discoloration. It is a difficult material to work with. Stir do not shake the product. Oil-based gets bubbles and this product gets foamy. The more you dip your brush into a still gallon can of this water based polyurathane after about 30 mins the top of your product is white foam that stick to your brush - even after wiping the bristles on the can. That white foam will collect on the wood and dry on the wood. When sealing a surface with carvings or squares like a door or drawer the white foam will build up in the corners of the indent and if left there will dry a off-white or yellow. (Picture 1) This will not scrape off but must be sanded and resealed again. I also rolled this product on a wood ceiling but could only due 3 ft sq sections that had to be brushed out or the foam/bubbles would dry quickly and elevate off the surface. Even after brushing out the ceiling still some of the product dried inbetween the slats. (Pictures 2 & 3). The product requires 3-5 coats if exterior perhaps 2-4 if interior. Of all the products I have applied in my painting carreer, this is my least favorite. But there is no other product that keeps the same shade and color of the wood. I would think the durabilty between the oil based and the water based would be similar. If sealing dark wood, I prefer the oil based for application.

Great product, disappoint on arrival.
Love the product. First time ever ordering a gallon. Product arrived with damaged packaging and damaged can. Product had leaked all inside of the packaging. Very disappointing.

Great stuff but not great idea to have it shipped...
OK - I really like this product and have used it for years for various projects. Water based urethane is a modern miracle, IMHO; so much easier than oil based products to use and clean up but still great protection without a glossy finish (using satin finish). HOWEVER, when I ran out in the middle of a large project and decided to order it to save the time of running to the store (as I did not need it right away) I wondered about shipping such a product, but deciced, oh why not try? Product arrived on the front porch, wife picked it up and put it into the foyer, but little did we realize that the can had developed a leak at the top (despite the extra holding clamps added) and the almost the entire gallon slowly emptied onto our foyer bench and floor. I came home later to a puddle that was, luckily, still wet. An hour of cleaning later and I got it almost all up without too much more drama, but if we had not noticed it right away - yikes! So, GREAT PRODUCT and GOOD PRICING but shipping something like this probably is, at best, a gamble. On the other hand, I was able to return it for a full refund. UPS was amused...but I waited for the entire can/box/packaging blob to dry before returning it.

Seems to do a great job.
Had a horrible two weeks getting the product to my friend, do to Amazon getting the wrong town on the address label,,,but when she finally got it, she said it is a great product, and so glad she found it. Can['t personally say anything about it, as I ordered it for her. But she gives it a big thumbs up!

Too many issues
Bubbles easily even when applying lightly. Whitens permanently in any nooks and crannies. After our picnic table had its first rain, we now have milky white spots in several places, including one quite large. Based on one review, we’re hoping it clears when dry. Finally , there is one area where the poly is still tacky after several days. Really not happy, definitely would not recommend.
