Over the years I've replaced wood caps a number of times. I'd been looking for an attractive, durable plastic design for a long time but had never found one that looked good to me, especially with respect to post/cap proportion. This one is perfect. Also, if the top of the post is not level, you can add washers to perfectly level the cap before attaching. And, (something I didn't realize when I purchased) there are small tabs protruding inward that help center the cap on the post. Atlanta has put a lot of thought into their caps. As a design engineer, I can usually think of ways to improve a product. Not this one ... it's perfect!!!

These plastic post caps were a perfect finishing touch to the deck around the pool. Takes less then a minute to install, comes with screws. Thin but solid plastic. Highly recommend.

Trying to protect deck posts that are beginning to show rot below the tops. Caps came well packaged, good instructions. I did not have a power saw or a way to easily level the post tops. I used a small handsaw with a level to cut the tops as best I could. The two part caps allowed me to keep things very level and in some instances I could add a small screw to the lower bracket to make minor adjustments. I repaired rotted posts before doing the caps, did a total of 18 caps, took my time on very hot days and they look great. There was a bonus in using these plastic caps: annoying doves and other birds no longer perch on the posts, make noise and leave a mess for me to clean up.

Seems very easy to place. However, if your 4 by 4 posts are 'warped' you may need to make adjustments to either the wood or the plastic to create an esthetic fit. Some people suggest a wooden shim under the screws to help with height alignment issues, but I found that I needed to notch the posts or deck rails in some areas to keep all the caps at the same angle. Overall, good value for the price.

We purchased 14 of these to replace the wood post caps we purchased from Lowe’s 2 years ago, the wood caps warped and split, causing us to look for something new and durable.These are easy to install, I put on 14 in under 45min.

Nice quality, easy to install, be careful not to snap the top on to see how it looks before installing because you wont be able to get the top off once snapped together. Fit our beveled 6x6 posts perfectly. The reveal covered up the bevel. Has a 10 yr warranty from US made company in Atlanta, GA. No China shipping! I would buy again in a heartbeat!
