Works perfect.

The kit came with all the stuff displayed in the picture. I was hopeful but expected that tools provided wouldn’t work. I was right. The screwdrivers looked like they’d fit but didn’t. There’s no hole in the top of the #6, so it couldn’t open the case of the Mac mini. Had to buy a different toolkit. I’d recommend spend a little extra to ensure you get the right tool for the job. If you do go for one of these ensure it has the recess at the tip of the torque screwdrivers

I used this in a 2012 Mac mini to a second SATA drive in the machine. It works, no issues.

I’m reviewing this package because I didn’t get what was advertised — and I waited a week not to get it! I needed a lower Mac mini drive cable, but thought an extra upper cable wouldn’t hurt and ordered this kit (I didn’t need the tools). I only received the tools (they seem correct), but no drive ribbons or screws, my Mac still awaits parts. If the company fixes the problem I’ll update and revise, in the mean time I can’t recommend this package.Further info: I have chosen the option to return the item due to broken or missing pieces, and having it replaced with an ‘identical item’ (hopefully it won’t actually be identical, and will include the missing ribbon cables).More ‘further info’: I received the replacement package and it was indeed complete. The ribbon cables were included and everything functions properly.

Would be nice if they put a link to some kind of tutorial, however this is a project for the semi experienced so it is understandable. the only trouble I had on the installation is the vibration mount grommets are tough to install without trimming slightly with a very small pair of scissors. They are a bit large to fit through chassis hole in back without removing entire power supply tray. Otherwise it is less expensive than popular fixit companies and I am pleased with quality amd function so far.

These are great! I was wanting to add one additional drive to my 2012 mac mini for Time Machine backups and just to have additional storage. You get everything you need with this kit. As long as you got patience, you can do it yourself. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, definitely have it done professionally. It did take a minute to figure out which cable was for what connector since the actual connectors cables weren't labeled at all. Make sure to do a test fit outside the mac to make sure that the ribbon cable lines up properly before you start disassembly.OWC makes very similar cables a bit higher price point. I used OWC before and they were great, just wanted to see if these would work as well, and they did. Would recommend.

Followed the instructions on YouTube and it went very well. Added a second drive and all is well.

I needed a replacement hard drive cable for my mid-2011 Mac mini. The cable I had worked, but only with an older SATA II drive. When I upgraded to an SATA III drive the cable seemed to be causing the drive to fail to boot, format, or work properly. The drive was fine because I was able to use and test it in another newer Mac with no issue.So I ordered this kit (nice to have a spare, and I needed the logic board tool to do the repair anyways), and it came a day later. Changed the cable, now no problems at all, and the new drive is humming along. Hopefully my mini will get another 5 years of life!
