It's does exactly what it says it does. Converts a single SATA power connection to a single 3-pin or 4-pin fan connection. I've used more than twenty of these things in system builds over the last year and they're constructed well, look nice with some decent sleeving, and they're reliable. Have yet to have a customer complain about one. I don't hesitate to recommend them. Now, there are a lot of reviews complaining that they only have two pins. This is true, but that's going to be the case of any SATA to fan adapter. A SATA power connection will only carry the 12v and ground signals. It doesn't carry sense or a PWM signal. So those of you complaining should educate yourselves before you leave reviews. This is normal and will be the case for any SATA or 4-pin Molex fan adapter and the 3/4-pin designation in the listing refers to the fan connector and not the number of terminals.

This adapter does it's job just fine and is of a higher quality than I initially expected. When fitting an AIO cooler to a machine that does not have a designated "WP" (Water Pump) header, many times you will find that the standard fan header cannot provide enough current to drive the pump at full tilt, resulting in higher than expected temperatures for the AIO. Your options at this point are to buy a dedicated fan controller that is SATA powered and will provide enough power, or to buy an adapter like this and just run the pump at 100% at all times. Different strokes for different folks, but I am of the mindset that the pump should be running at 100% at all times anyway, so this adapter is the perfect fit if you share the same mindset. I keep these on hand just in case.

Nice quality equipment and free from flaws. I actually had pins reversed on an external adapter that I was trying this on and did not realize at the time that it wasn't this products at fault, it was my power adapter plug ground for my 12 volts was missing. Since I needed 12 volts I just swapped the 5 volts' ground on the Molex and viola!

Bought them to power my pump res as my previous does not have 3 pin fan power worked great also use one to power my wall 3pin led's ran to a wall power to Sata addapter.

Length is excessive for a SFF unit. What I would really like is to see this a one-piece SATA to fan adapter. Fan connector has two pins but being power from power supply that works if you don't need variable case fan RPM.
