Great tire

This is a great tire to run on either your front or rear. I'm running this tire on my older Trek Fuel and it corners great, sheds muck and just feels stable running tubeless at the right pressure. I got a new Stumpy EVO Pro and it came with Specialized Eliminators and I am already missing the confidence that I had on my Minions. I will be upgrading soon.As others have said, I guess it's a bit of a heavy tire but I am a heavy guy and I'm out there to have fun, not count grams. Depending on usage, they last about as long as any tire.Like I said, I will be upgrading my stumpy real soon.

They just work!

The grip on these are perfect! Installing them was very fast and simple, they locked right in the wheel. No leaks at all. I get over a years use on these in my riding terrain of sand, rock gardens and dry dirt in the Caribbean. You cant go wrong with them.

Boy Howdy 🤠

Trek X-Caliber8 2021 29” 2.3 DHR II F/RBoy Howdy, these tires are amazing!!! I’m running two DHR’s front and back. My bike is an XC bike and I started MTBing the beginning of this summer. I use my bike for everything from long rides, bike parks, trails ect. I live in Denver so there are many options when it comes to biking. The XC tires that I had before were great on pavement and could launch you really fast like a rocket on flat surfaces. Where they felt short however was uphill and on loose terrain. As I’m progressing, my ability to do some things were starting to become hindered. The tires just didn’t have enough grip when I needed it and they would either spin out or it wouldn’t give me confidence on certain obstacles. Then was bestowed upon me the MAXXIS minion DHR II. And a light came down from the sky and said upon me, “Thou shalt have the power to shred”. Hahaha Okay but for real. When you hear people review tires and they say they’re “aggressive” I finally felt what that meant. These tires grab and allow you to go hella fast down single track while keeping consistent stability. They’ll whip you through berms and allow you to move side to side with a feeling, that they just want to stick. Which is great, because that will give you more confidence to use more movement and momentum on the bike. I honestly feel like I go faster on the trails/Singletrack with these rather than my old XC tires because you clearly have more control. However, on pavement they do seem to be a little bumpy because of the deeper knobs but only if you pay attention to it. Another thing is the they’re not as fast on flatter surfaces and understandably. If you’re looking to upgrade your bike buying tires can completely change your ride. So when it comes to the MAXXIS Minion DHR II’s I can only think of one thing to say about them which comes from the great Billy Bob from Varsity Blues, which is, “ I GIVE IT A TEN!!!”

Amazing Trail Tires

I recently picked up a 2016 Trek Superfly 9.7 off of Marketplace and I wasn’t thrilled with the Bontrager tires that the dude had put on it, so I bought the Maxxis DHR IIs and they’re amazing so far. Simple enough to install (I did tubeless) and super grippy on the trail. I’m using these for both the front and rear on this bike and it seems like a solid combo, even though others have said it can be a heavy one (my bike only weighs 23 lbs so I’m not miffed about the extra lbs).

Good product.

Real deal. Shipping was slow but the estimate was correct. Good product. Heavier than the cheap tires I had, but better traction and less rolling resistance for sure.

Electricbike or downhill bike specific tires.

Awesome tire but it weighs a ton. Grips really well in most conditions but I can feel the weight of the tire even on my e-bike. Totally shines when going downhill and you'd be hard pressed to find a better tire for this but good luck when you're pedalling uphill on a non e-bike.

the DHR II rolls better than both and because of the large ramped knobs ...

I have ridden the Maxxis High Rollers and Ikon 29" tires to compare against the Maxxis DHR II. I use the DHR II front and rear and thought that they would not roll as well as the High Roller and the Ikon. To me, the DHR II rolls better than both and because of the large ramped knobs it out brakes both on steep downhills. The DHR II is also lighter than the High Roller but heavier than the Ikon. The tire is slow wearing, durable, and tracks well over ground. It is an all purpose tire except for off camber hardpack or mud but the tire is not rated for either. It does well in wet to light mud without a problem.

Not just a name

I've used Kenda, Serfas, and Continental. I guess I was resistant to Maxxis because they're everywhere. I converted to tubeless and I've ridden on them twice on rough terrain. They grab great in the uphill, over rocks, etc. Braking is improved with the tread pattern. I feel they're worth the money. I'll see how they wear over time.
