Must have for my Japanese husband
When I first started dating this Japanese guy I knew (wink, wink) , years and years go, it was hard to find Japanese-brand-specific products in the US, online or in “Asian” stores. It’s amazing how much more global the world is becoming and how products are becoming more available everywhere. Now we can obtain so many great Japanese products in the US. I’m not a coffee drinker, nor am I Japanese, but even I know the significance of BOSS Coffee. However, my husband is addicted to coffee. I surprised my Japanese husband (who’s been living in the US over half his life) with this pack for his birthday and cannot describe the type of positive impact it had on him. There’s just something special about this coffee and I get it. I try to keep him stocked up on this product, but out of the canned coffees we’ve ordered, this one is the most expensive. Maybe because it’s coming straight from Japan? And we started ordering this regularly summer of 2025. We tend to go for other brands more often because of price. But still, there is something special about BOSS. It’s almost like “umami” - the unique mixture of a strong flavor, ubiquitous Japanese culture, hot summers in Japan, buying coffee from vending machines, getting a boost to get over the jet lag, etc. The mix of memories, mental notes and taste, whipped up into one can of BOSS Coffee.

Great tasting canned coffee
Really good can coffee. For a long time I used to get Jay Street coffee from Amazon but they stopped carrying it around a couple of years ago. Then I moved to UCC black coffee and they just recently stopped carrying that as well, so I just moved to BOSS black coffee. Great item that I’ve had during visits to Japan and happy to now get it delivered, but it is quite expensive ($41 for 12 cans, 8oz with a subscription as of this writing).

Flavor is very good but inside were some coffee grounds
I had seen this coffee when viewing videos of Japanese vending machines and curiosity about how this tasted was the motivation for my purchase. The taste was very smooth compared to other black coffee and expresso I have had from a can. I added sweetener and cream after trying it black. The taste did not have the bitter aftertaste you normally get from cold coffee which is good. With cream and sweetener it was even better. I would switch from my normal canned coffee if the price was less than $2 a can. But my curiosity was satisfied and this is a good can of coffee. My only complaint and the reason this does not get 5 stars was that there were a couple coffee grinds at the bottom of my cup. With such a smooth taste, I expected this to be better filtered than this. The packaging included the product box inside of the shipping box. The product box has 12 cans each separated by a cardboard diivider. I have had other drink cans delivered before for other items and this packaging prevents the cans from being damaged. I paid $32 plus shipping and tax which makes it a bit too expensive for me to drink on a regular basis. This is expected since it is imported.

Hands down the best Cold brew on the market!
I have tried almost every other Cold Brew, this by far out beats them all, I never drank straight Black Coffee till I tried this, especially on a hot day and when your kind of thirsty, so refreshing and gives you a bit of a buzz! It doesn’t have a sour after taste like almost every other brand on the market! It’s enough come from Japanese craftsmanship!

Authentic Japanese Coffee in a Can
When I drink coffee, I often want something quick. You can't beat coffee ready in a can! The truth is Boss coffee is a great coffee that takes its quality seriously. Without going into too much detail it's important to know the Japanese take taste and product quality very seriously. Of course you may see a few reviews about dented cans (they ship internationally it makes sense), but it really is important to talk about the taste and quality of this coffee. I drink a lot of coffee ranging from Mom and Pop shops to Starbucks, and I have to say the taste of Boss Coffee to be my favorite. I traveled to Japan a few times and daily my go-to has been small vending machine Boss Coffee. The taste is EXACTLY like what you would experience in Japan, which is nice because for a lot of people the accessibility to Boss Coffee outside of Japan is difficult. The black coffee itself is fresh, without tasting overpowered or over brewed. The convenience of grabbing it and going, adding it to any meal is nice as well. Small bonus to the Japanese writing on the top of the cans. Overall if you want to try something new I highly recommend trying Boss Coffee. I'm hoping we get a lot more flavors in the future!
