Great fit and lowered the noise of the 4.0l valve clatterđ
It was a pretty easy fit needed to take of the locks and such to properly fit it. Just beware itâs not a one hour install it might be more than that since youâll have to fiddle with the latches and make sure everything is lined up

I am writing this review, so you are not misled.
The hood liner is near 5 stars. Other reviewer claiming 15 minute install, that is.... Impossible. I am actually so disappointed with this information I am writing this review so you have all the information you need to do this install and know what to expect.Just like you, I read reviews and look for reviewers' uploaded photos of the product before purchasing and plan my install around my weekend to use my time wisely. There are a couple of reviewers stating this is a ten or fifteen minute job. I am here to tell you this hood liner is NOT going to be a 10 minute install. If anything I am not sure how they could have done this in 15 minutes as that seems like inflated egotistical truth. Set aside an hour or more.I swapped my 4.0L out in 4 days. I can tell you I am more than capable of installing this hood liner. It took me a good hour or two trying to figure out what to do along the way. The "no-one-wants-to-talk-about" issue is the release mechanism and that no reviewers seem to talk about. The hood liner is to be installed on the hood then hood release mechanisms to go on top. The long horizontal bar that release the hood locks need to be removed and that means you have to remove the locking mechanisms on both corners of the hood and the bar that connects to the mechanisms. The tough part is removing the long metal bar that spans between the locking mechanisms without permanently damaging or bending it due to the cable actuating mechanism where the horizontal bar attached/linked are permanently affixed to the hood via rivets. The horizontal bar is too long to be navigate through the preperforated opening during the re-installation without removing the it from the mechanism, cutting a larger hole on the liner, or slit the opening so that the hood liner material is no longer continous piece but split in the front. On the last of my uploaded photos, you can see where I bowed the horizontal bar/pulling rod and able to snake it out of the cable actuated bracket. To verbally explain, where the long horizontal bar attached to the cable actuator, I bent the longer section (passenger side) away from the hood and this allowed the bar to rotate and I was able to get the hook off the cable actuated mechanism.Once all the mechanisms are off the hood and the light as well, you can install the hood liner than reinstall the cable and horizontal bar link holders back along with spring that pulls the mechanism back to middle. Before shutting the hood down, make sure the mechanisms work and check your hood release lever works. The round retaining clips suggested by Amazon worked well holding the liner on the hood. Make sure you remember or take photos where the old hardwares go back and install those first and install the new round retention clips. Otherwise you will be pulling out the new clips you just installed. The front openings for the retention clips were well aligned to the factory holes but the bottom end or the ends towards the rear of the vehicle was tough to align and in fact I had to make an alternative hole for the round clip.So don't plan 10 minutes of your day thinking you will knock this out. Prepare to spend an hour or more and also, do this when it is not windy. Otherwise I can see how you will crease the liner by wind folding it.Almost 5 stars for the quality of material but performance wise, it allowed very small perceivable/audible gain. I am not really impressed but not disappointed for the price. If this hood liner ever deteriorates to a point it needs replacing, I may just keep it out.Good luck with your install!

Perfect fit for XJ.
Fits XJ perfectly. Well worth the price. It does not come with any hardware, you will want to get some replacement clips as most will not survive removal. Installation took about 10 minutes.

Perfect Fit, Less Engine Noise
This was a perfect fit for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. I had the car repainted and wanted to quiet the engine down just a bit. The new hi-flow air intake was a little more noisy and I thought this would provide a quieter ride. it looks great and keeps engine noise down. LOVE IT!Make sure to get the uxcellÂŽ 20 Pcs Plastic Fastener Rivet Retainer Clips to make for easy install.

Almost a perfect fit for my 1991 XJ!
I had to make two holes for the center clips, but that wasn't too difficult and it holds tightly. The old lining was fibreglass or something equally irritating so I recommend wearing a mask and gloves. I took some utility scissors and cut from the edge of the liner in to all the clips. Once I removed the liner it was much easier to take the old clips out without breaking them.I found a lot of rust bubbled paint underneath the liner and hadn't budgeted time to to hit with a sanding wheel and spray some rust stopper on there so the project took a little longer than I had planned...The liner is thinner than the original, but I have no complaints about that. I think it looks a lot better.
