My computer wasn't charging properly. Last weekend my lap top computer would't go on, it started after a number of tries with the cord. After fearing that I had to buy a new computer, searched online for possible causes and a bad charger could be the culprit. I like to think of the simplest solution to a problem first. I also spoke to my son in law who said it was normal and made new a new charger. I'm a 77 y/o and have some knowledge of the technology. I ordered the cord, after driving to the local big box, who had one model for $59 which was Universal, they didn't have Dell. So I came to trusty Amazon and ordered this one for $17.45. The pkg arrived in 3 days, in a well packed secured box, although one flap on the box was sticking out, the address label kept the whole box from opening. I opened the box and plugged in the devise as usual. It's a new product because everything was wrapped well. The computer as of today is working very well and not getting the message that the adapter isn't functioning, etc., which I never understand the verbage. It's always a good day, when I order a product, get what I want and expect, save a bundle of money. Also, I live in a remote area where I have to drive 45 mins to the nearest shopping area. I rate product 5 stars, but can't rate Durability because I just received it. Hoping it last a while.

Compatible, good quality

I purchased this charger around december of 2021. My original Dell one had broke and I was not paying $60 for a new one!! I had bought this charger and it worked great until now. When I put the charger in my laptop it says it's charging but it doesn't actually charge, and makes my laptop slower when I put it in. I tried putting it in different plugs around the house but it still wouldnt work. So unfortunately I need a new charger, so I'll be re-buying this charger. I'm a little disappointed that it only lasted for about 9-10 months and not a year but I'll take what I can get. But to be fair i did not treat the charger as well as i should, i stepped on it, dropped it OFTEN, and i think the battery just died on the charger so i believe thats the reason it wasnt working. So would I-recommend . . . YES I would, but i wouldnt expect for it to work for more than a year at most.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series laptop which has been an absolute nightmare since I bought it. Had a hard drive crash after 8 months of owning it which was extremely stressful as a student. Then a couple of months later there was suddenly a warning that said the laptop cannot charge (I do not remember the exact error message). I was terrified and did not know what was wrong. I read online it could have been 1 of a few things; I was expecting the worse from this garbage laptop BUT I decided to try out a brand new charger just in case that would fix the problem. Online forums said the Dell brand chargers were just defective, so I decided on this one. THANK GOODNESS! It worked perfectly, no more error messages, and the laptop charges faster than it did with the original Dell charger. This is a great charger, highly recommend! You may want to buy one now even if you still have your Dell charger. Those Dell chargers will die instantly which can cause major troubles if you do much work on you computer like I do.

It works fine

This charger is perfect. Not only does it charge my la[ptop but it can be stored easily in my tote bag with my DELL laptop.

The charger was working flawlessly for the first 1.5 months but then all of a sudden stopped working. I believe I got a message that my computer couldn't recognize the voltage from the charger and from that point on it wouldn't charge my laptop. Hoped to get at least a year out of it, and would have probably even given 3 or 4 stars had it lasted at least 6 months. UPDATE: Seller reached out to me to make things right, which was much appreciated. I would probably try them again given this type of customer service.
