Super easy install! All I used was a stud finder, drill, and 8X3” drywall screws! I wouldn’t recommended using the screws that come with the kit. I got the 8X3” drywall screws from Walmart for like 3 bucks. Saves a lot of space in my garage and I don’t us the that door so it worked out great!

I used these bars to hang a full sized adult kayak (top yellow kayak in picture). The yellow kayak is at least 20 years old and it’s made well, thick plastic...heavy! I even have a heavy duty creekkooler inside of the kayak. The bars work as they should. They hold my boat...not much more to it. As long as you’re not aggressive with the them, slamming the boat on the rack or ripping the boat out of the rack, they should be fine. Yes they do have a little give to them in comparison to a more expensive rack that I used to hang the bottom kayak, but I also paid a lot more for the ones on the bottom. You get what you pay for. I’m happy with them.

Good product and price. Only issue was the screw heads stripping out while screwing them in with the Dewalt driver. I’d recommend going to local hardware store for a better quality screw, or pre-drilling a hole before installing. On a VERY windy day one of my boats blew out of the bracket. I put a small eye bolt in the fence to tie them off to. No other issue since. I don’t imagine a more expensive bracket being any better than these.

These hangers worked perfectly in my garage. The set of four hangers are now holding two Kayaks on my garage wall now. (Two hangers for each Kayak). Just make sure you find the studs in your wall to anchor the hangers, or the weight of the Kayak will rip them out of the wall. (Note) you might wanna use longer screws than the ones they supply like I did. They are plenty wide enough for any type of Kayak you may have. I have a 12 foot Old Town Loon Kayak resting in one of the sets and it fits the hanger with no problem.

The reviews had me a little unsure, but so far so good! Easy to install, the yaks are still on the wall and no longer hogging the floor. Life is good! As you can see in the pic, I screwed right into the wall studs. The provided screws were used and appear adequate. Took maybe 5 mins to install. Easy and affordable solution to a nagging issue with the yaks hogging the floor of the garage.

Overall, the hooks are strong and easily support our 55# yacks + gear. The screws that came with the hangers broke while installing. ABSOLUTELY, DO NOT USE THE SCREWS THAT COME WITH THIS PRODUCT. We used high quality decking screws to install. The hooks wobble side to side due to the rounded backs of the hangers; therefore, we installed 2 "ridged 2-hole conduit straps" on each hanger to keep them from wobbling from side to side (see picture). I would give these hangers a 1-star if it wasn't for the low price of the set and how inexpensive and easy it was to "fix" the design and hardware problems. We attached 2 vertical 1x4s to the wall joists prior to installing the hangers . We also installed eye hooks above and below the kayaks to secure them in place incase they are bumped.
