Explode The Code provides a sequential, systematic approach to phonics in which students blend sounds to build vocabulary and read words, phrases, sentences, and stories. Frequent review of previously Review: Four Stars - So far my son is enjoying it! Review: Great Phonics Workbook! - Explode the Code has been a game changer! We homeschool and I was looking for something that my oldest (who just turned 6) could work on independently, while I work with my littles. We have a primary language arts curriculum so I wanted something that would provide extra practice to enhance learning, that wasn't just busy work, and this has been a great resource! We didn't know which book to start with and I was having a hard time finding the contents covered in each book so if you're new to Explode the Code, like we are, I have included pictures of both the ETC Series and Book 2 contents for your reference. Each lesson includes nine pages of the same format (I included a snapshot of what each of those pages look like as well) and I love that the pages are simple, repetitive, sequential and easy for a child to follow. We do 2-4 pages a day and I love that he's building upon his phonics, vocabulary, spelling, reading comprehension and writing skills. Great practice for anyone, not just homeschool families, and a great way to keep up on skills over the summer! I am so glad we found ETC! We will be ordering Books 3 & 4 for my 6 year old who will be starting first grade and Books A, B, C and 1 for my 4 year old who will be starting TK. If I was you, I would order it right now!

Love this series, all four of my kids do them and no one complains! Easy to follow, skills build on each other, my kids can do this independently and also learn

Definitely Worth the Buy!
My 5(soon to be 6) year old and My 7 year old are currently working on level 2 of this book. I started in level 2, because level 1 seemed a bit to easy for them. But so far my 5 year old enjoys this book. The lessons are short and take 10 minutes or less. Depending on how much time you guys take to do the lesson. 5 year old does multiple pages at a time, probably can get through a full lesson a day. That’s how much the assignments are understood. It’s not to much for the 5 yo because we’ve been practicing phonics with Jady A also so it’s a great reinforcement of what we’ve already learned. My 7 year old is more of a math whiz but a reader as well and this has been great in enhancing phonics skills too. 7 yo would prefer to do 1 or 2 pages vs an entire lesson at once Lol but it’s ok. It works out well for both of them! Reading is understandable for their age(to read on their own). They are able to complete lessons without me if need be. I think we’ll be starting the next book in No time because of their understanding. I feel like we’re on the right page! Highly recommend!
