Works for our applications very well.

Very good measuring tool
Works great and is easy to take apart for cleaning. Nice carrying case. Just note the length when folded up, it can be difficult to fit in the car!

Not good in cold climates. Spring buttons become very brittle.
One star is a stretch. Total turd. Used this once at 30 degrees and two of the spring buttons shattered.Springs and plastic flying in all directions. Garbage. It is now working hard at holding down my dump trailer waiting for my next trip to the dump Do not buy this if you work in cold climates.

Damaged Grade Rod
Grade rod was damaged prior to arrival. There are holes in the carrying case (that are in line with the damaged rod) at the top of the case. The top section of the rod was shattered/splintered. The rod looks like it was dropped prior to shipping, the shipping box had no apparent damage. The top of the rod was wrapped in Saran Wrap, secured by a rubber band, as if the damage was trying to be hidden.
