New “Pots & Pans”

My husband and I love our new “pots & pans”! We thought it was time for some new ones, and we made a good choice.

Very happy!

I bought this set to replace an aging set of Calphalon hard anodized cookware. Our old set did not have the non-stick coating, and I know how hard it was to clean sometimes, so I was interested in seeing what was new in that arena. I read up on the Circulon and was impressed with what I saw, (you can use metal utensils, dishwasher safe, etc.) I've been buying off Amazon for several years now, and I've never once been unhappy with their service, so when I saw an amazing deal on this set of cookware, I thought I would give it a try. We have a glass-top electric range. My first impressions were that the pots and pans were much thinner than our old set, and I noticed the stainless steel clad bottoms right away. I also thought the set looked so much nicer than our old set. Overall, happy so far. I believe the first thing we cooked were scrambled eggs, and two things came up here:1. We can use lower heat than we used to, and2. NOTHING seems to stick to these pans!VERY happy with the unscientific "scrambled eggs" test. When we washed that pan, we only had to rinse it with the sprayer to get everything to slide out of the pan, no scrubbing needed at all. In fact, these pans are so easy to clean, we don't even bother to put them in the dishwasher, EVERYTHING so far has simply wiped off. One thing I do recommend is to dry them after washing, especially if you have hard water. They spot easily, but if you dry them, they look brand new every time.Because these pots and pans look so nice, we've also resisted the urge to use metal utensils on them just in case - we still have all our nylon utensils from our old set, so we continue to use those. We were so impressed with the looks, we purchased a pot rack / light to hang them from over our kitchen island. And yes, the handles don't have holes that go all the way through (which would have been a little nicer), but they do hang on a hook just fine. After using them for a few months now, we've been very happy. In fact, we bought the larger skillet for those "one skillet" meals for our 5 person family. We continue to notice that we can use lower heat than we used to with our calphalon set, and the non-stick coating has not shown any wear whatsoever. And you only have to boil water to see that they heat very evenly - bubbles come from all over the bottom of the pan, not just certain areas. The lids fit well and being able to see through them is a huge plus, something we couldn't do with our old set. We are very happy with this set and would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone. In summary:Looks - 5 starsNon-stick - 5+ starsEven heating - 5 starsSizes - 4 stars, they might be a little on the small side for a large familyCleanup - 5+ stars, ridiculously easy to clean

Best Cookware I Have Ever Used - and GREAT customer service!!!!!

The best cookware I have ever used! And for someone who has cooked most everyday for the past 40+ years, that's really saying something. These are strong, sturdy, even-heating and even stylish (which I never thought I would say about cookware). I have had this set about 2 months, which I used to replace the MasterClad set my husband bought for me at Costco (which was twice the price). Since we are whole-plant vegan, I cook every single day.Unlike other non-stick cookware, you do not have to continually "season" these with oil, and the food frees up easily. You can actually use metal utensils without a care (I don't think it's possible to scratch them). As an example of their durability, yesterday I accidentally left rice pudding on the stove for several hours. We came home to that sickly stench of burned starch and sugar. The food had become a solid mass, about 75% of it black. YUK! Because of the silicon handle, I was easily able to pick it up the pot and transfer it off the burner. When it had cooled a bit I filled it with water. After only about 10 minutes I decided to see if it would be at all possible to salvage the pot. I used a regular soup spoon to scrape and lift the burned food out of the pot, then a few small scrubs with the plastic scrubby and it was GOOD AS NEW! You absolutely can't tell there had been a disaster.I LOVE THESE POTS!!UPDATE: So I have owned these pots about a year and a half now, and they were definitely showing wear - the non-stick coating was wearing off and they had scratches from using metal utensils (which they say is allowed). But the pans have a lifetime guarantee, so I went to their website and complete a claim form for five of the pots (which includes photos). The interaction with Customer Service was excellent. They got back to me right away telling me the form had been accepted and was being reviewed, but that it would take 2-4 weeks for them to review and process it. I thought they would weasel out of it. Instead, only 5 DAYS LATER I received a COMPLETELY NEW SET OF PANS delivered to my front door!!!!!!! I am definitely impressed and delighted!

Better than ordinary nonstick but ...

I've had to learn to cook late in life to ensure that my mom gets nutritious and tasty meals. After years of frustration with various types of nonstick cookware (and lots of money down the drain), I bought the Circulon chocolate symmetry set for Xmas. After 3 weeks of use, I'm generally pleased with the cookware and consider it to be a big step up from the other stuff. But, there are some challenges. (1) I need a 12-inch skillet for some things like cooking two pieces of French toast or two large pancakes at once but there is no 12-inch skillet in the chocolate symmetry collection. I've asked the firm when they are going to fix this. While I wait for the answer and the fix, I'm going to have to buy the 10- and 12-inch skillet set in black. (2) The edge of the 11-inch skillet is showing wear after only 3 weeks of use so I will have to submit a warranty claim on that. (3) As others have noted, the pans take longer to heat up than other cookware. They also hold heat longer even after you turn down the burner or remove the pan to a cool surface. So, these pans are more like cast iron than aluminum or stainless steel. That means there is a bigger risk of over cooking your food. I have started pulling food from the pans earlier than I would with other cookware. (4) I have burned myself so often with other "oven safe" stove top cookware that I want to get silicon hot handle holders for this cookware. I'm not sure which sizes / brands will fit these handles so I've put that question to the company and will up date this when I get the answer.
