Barbie Bessie Smith Inspiring Women Collection
Quality clothes, face mold and poseable body. Would love a plane to go with her for display. Mattel Barbie = Great Job! The quality and historical relevance & reverence makes this a must have!

Outstanding Doll.
Was after this for a while. She is perfect. Does she look just like a Bessie? No. But close enough, the outfit is incredible, love the box. Just EXTREMELY happy with this doll. She will going next to Mrs Roosevelt..another exquisite doll. What can I say I’m a history lover.

Lovely and unique doll
I was sad that I missed out on the Amelia Earhart "Inspiring Women" Barbie (which now goes for hundreds on ebay) - but with this new Bessie Coleman doll, I now have a pilot in my collection! I love the Inspiring Women line. It's very un-Barbie, which is a good thing - here you'll find short curly hair, gaps in teeth, granny glasses, trousers instead of skirts, olive green instead of hot pink. Even hat hair, which you'll see if you take Coleman's cap off. This is a great doll and an excellent likeness of Coleman, and the outfit seems historically accurate. A wonderful collectible as well as a nice gift for a kid who's interested in history.

Beautiful image
This is the second time I’ve ordered this figure of Bessie Coleman. Last year I got one for our local public library for their teen display during February and March (I had previously gotten them the figure of Maya Angelou). Many teens were inspired to read biographies of these women,as well as Maya’s poetry). This figure is for the 2024 Toys for Tots. I do like to donate figures of the inspiring women series to give children more information about many of the courageous females in history. This particular figure is well made and attractive. I was inspired to read more about Bessie’s life.

I buy one every year
Ii want to applaud the Barbie company for honoring a famous Black woman every year.I have about 5 dolls in this collection. I hope they make one for Kamala Harris. Every teacher should buy a doll from this collection for Women's history month to display in the classroom.
