OtterBox 77-51580 for Apple iPhone 6/6s, Premium Leather Protective Folio Case, Strada Series, Black

This case provides an excellent solution for protecting the iPhone 6S.The level of protection is good. The sides of the case rise to protect the screen from face down impacts. The phone is held securely. The access ports, camera and speaker are recessed with a chamfer to ensure protection without compromising access with the body of the case. The wake/sleep and volume buttons are covered by the case body but can be easily operated. The silent switch is not covered, but accessible in the same way as the ports. The function of the phone is in no way compromised by the case and the weight added, though discernible, only adds to the feeling of substance rather than suggesting bloat.I was concerned about the quality of the leather before purchasing the case. This was unfounded. The leather fits beautifully to the body and - surprisingly - does not look out of place against the plastic elements of the case. The stitching is not noticeably contrast - the colour is more accurately described as grey rather than white. The detailing is more subtle than the photographs suggest.I was also concerned about the fit of the folio flap and the security of the magnetic closure. Other cases with this design have had a great deal of vertical and lateral movement in the hinge and weak closures that spring open under pressure. This case has none of these problems. The closure is secure even when the case is dropped. The leather hinge has the correct amount of resistance - i.e. slightly too much spring at present, which I anticipate will ease with continuing use. The flap has minimal unwanted movement. This may change with use and if it does so I will add an addendum to this review.The card slot can easily accommodate a single card and a single note. This does not compromise the closure of the case. The card is not easy to remove, though again I expect that this will change with time and use. I would not consider this case to be a wallet replacement, but perhaps it may be useful to carry a regularly used card, such as an Oyster or main debit/credit card.Finally, the branding of the case is remarkably subtle. The photographs make the 'Otterbox' cartouche appear more garish and obtrusive than it is. Something to be thankful for.Overall I consider the design/production of this case to be better considered and more successful than the iPhone 6S it contains.

Deserves five stars, a genuinely good case IMHO. I'm a bit of a veteran on the buying wallet type cases for the iPhone 6, this OtterBox is my fourth different case since getting my new 6 last year. Two went back to Amazon pretty quickly (Great Shield and Torro) one after the other because of the camera cut outs on both cases, they were both too small/deep causing flare from the flash and washed out pictures (you'd think designers would pick this up) The third case was good and lasted for eight months, it had been okay with numerous light drops but the plastic phone holder part cracked in several places after a heavier drop onto a hard floor from waist height. Fair enough, the case did it's job and at £7.99 I'm not complaining. I bought this case because of the straight five star reviews and OtterBox's reputation for tough phone cases, I'm not disappointed. It's very well made with a real quality feel, has a chunky all round non brittle holder for the phone to sit in, and the camera/flash cut out causes no obstruction, also, although not described as a wallet case there is a pocket inside the front cover with room enough for a bank card and some paper money. The magnetic catch works well and is quite firm, it will also hold the cover behind the phone for clear access to the screen. Some might think that £24.18 is a little pricey, but with the current minimum replacement cost for an iPhone 6 (16GB) being £539 and £80 - £100 to replace a shattered screen, I think it's money well spent, as this case must be one of the best out there.

After looking at many, many iPhone 6 cases I plumped for this one as it looked a perfect mix of form and function. Indeed this is a very nice case and the iPhone fits very securely into it. Like all OtterBox cases the phone feels very well protected all around, with the sides nicely protected yet still allowing access to all key buttons. The magnetic clasp to the flip screen protector works well and is easy to use. The little card space for a card is a nice bonus. My only qualm (and the reason I returned the product) was the look of the case - I wasn't really a fan of the white stitching on the leather on the front of the case which I hadn't noticed in the pictures - but that is really just me being very pernickety about aesthetics. If you do not have strong feelings about white stitching on black leather and are looking for a sturdy folio case then this may well be the one for you!

I had an iPhone 5 for 3 years before scratching up the glass by dropping it onto a concrete floor a couple of weeks ago. So I thought it was time to upgrade to a 6s and actually invest in a decent case with a cover. Well, I got the new phone last week and this case on the same day. The next day I brought both into work (assembled) and was showing my work colleague the phone when it bounced out of my hand onto the same concrete floor. The first hit was on one of the corners. It then landed face down with the cover open. Luckily, there were no scratches on either the case or the phone and it still worked. The extra height on the plastic surrounding the phone had protected it from debris on the floor. So I will heartily give this case 5/5 stars. The delivery was quick too and I liked the packaging for the case - I don't know why but I was chuffed with the magnet that held the case in the box.
