Hot take - this product keeps your pipes from freezing.

Perfect length - auto on and off feature. The tape that comes with it was super tough as well. Needed a scissors to cut it.I wish the instructions had been clearer up front to know that i should have wound it around the pipe versus laying along to pipe - still unclear which is the right way to do that. Does it matter? But the product itself it great.

Worked great during the Texas blizzard of 2025

I live in an area of Texas that hardly ever snows and rarely gets below freezing for any length of time. This year was different. We had a week of temps in the 20s & 30s. My house is on piers built on a hill facing a body of water. My pipes are installed under the house. With the north winds coming off the lake, I knew I was in for frozen pipes. Decided to give this a try. Very glad I did!Normally, we trickle water in our pipes during freezing weather. With this installed, I didn’t have to trickle water at all. There’s a thermostat at the end of the cable that automatically heats the pipes. My pipes are pex but I know this will work on PVC or metal/copper piping.During the entire event (week), the pipes never froze! Saved water for sure. Definitely recommend.

A life saver during the recent cold blast

The heat cable is safe and easy to install, the temperature doesn’t exceed 72degrees, so no risk of fire, many YouTube videos online for how to best install it, comes with its own tape for quick installation, I personally used electric tape just to be safe and to make sure there is always contact with the pipe (works with PVC or metal). For best results, the cable should always be placed under the pipe, then taped to the pipe, then covered with some insulation tape to be absolutely sure your pipe will never freeze. The thermostat auto turn on/off depending on the temperature of the pipe, so no need to unplug it when not needed.

Amazing Customer Service and Warranty

I had previously purchased Pipe Heating Cable with Thermostat. Item worked great during the winter months. It was time to plug Heat Cable back in to get ready for another winter, noticed on the second morning temperatures dropped below freezing and to my surprise I did not have any water. Emailed customer support at MAXKOSKO stating the issues, and to be honest my disappointment du to the cable only worked for 1 cold season. Promptly was emailed back and did could have tests to pinpoint issue. This is all happening week of Christmas but their support team was on there game and sent some a Heat cable with out thermostat. I was very happy when it showed up 1 gay earlier than supposed to. MAXKOSKO has a great group of employees doing there best to have satisfied customers. It was a pleasure doing business with them and will again soon. Give them a try and I promise you will not be disappointed Thank again

Junk

I bought 160 foot roll and spend a week under a mobile home taping it to the bottom of the CPVC water lines every 3 to 6 inches. Made sure the tape layed flat under the pipe and had good contact. Then spent another week under the trailer putting insulation tubes over the pipes and heat trace. I even sealed the seal pf the insulation with aluminum tape to ensure a good seal. I then ran a separate 20amp 120 volt electrical box to where it gets plugged in. Felt very confident with the installation. Fast forward 3 months and we get a cold snap of sub zero temperatures and the hot water lines are locked up. The thermostat is where the water supply comes out of the ground and the line runs the entire length of the cold water lines to its furthest point away from the main water supply. At which time, the heat tape jumps over to the hot water lines and comes back to the start. I wrapped the excess around the meter. I don't think the heat tape has enough juice in it to keep the whole thing hot enough. This product might be great if it's under 100 feet, but it ain't worth a shit at 160 feet. Looks like I should have gone with two shorter lines instead of one long one. Now I have to redo the entire system and dump even more money AND TIME UNDER A MOBILE HOME into this project. Not a happy camper.

Prevents cold water inlet from freezing

A few days per year the temp in my garage gets below freezing which causes the cold water line into my water heater to freeze. Generally this has meant I need to get out a hair dryer to fix this issue. But, now I don’t need to use a hair dryer any more! This product works great, and seems to be well made.
