Complaint Resolved Promptly and Equitably
This connector did not work. No video or sound transferred from my Audiovox D2017 portable player to my Samsung TV. I finally found the old connector that I had used some time ago and it worked. Even my wife could see that the male connector for the output was slightlly smaller than the old one. The product is worthless in this application. The company promptly responded to my complaint and saw from a comparison picture of the two cables I sent that the new cable was not appropriate for my equipment. They promptly refunded my payment without requiring a return. There prompt response and corrective action speaks well for this company.

This cable is what I needed to connect my portable DVD player to my TV
Despite many bad reviews on this cable, I have tried it on my Philips portable DVD player and it worked perfectly. The wiring was done correctly, the picture quality is as expected for composite video (not as clear as HD but still, a well mastered DVD upscaled can be just as enjoyable as Blu-Ray, and also, portable DVD players and cheap DVD players can easily be hacked with secret menus to make them all region, the sound quality is as expected and everything. I highly recommend anyone to try the cable for their needs.

You need to get the right one for your equipment.
Good quality but the pin-out was not compatible with the Video In on my Sony TV. I exchanged it (thanks Amazon) for a Parts Express 3.5mm Plug (4 Pole) To 3 RCA A/V Cable 6 feet (Amazon 104-9-N) at the same price. The Amazon 104-9-N has the correct pin-out for Sony and it works perfectly. I don't understand why there are 2 different configurations among the various manufacturers but there are and you need to get the right one for your particular equipment.

My Mistake
I purchased the AV adapter cable for use with an Insignia NS-P10DVD18 player. The cable appears to be well made and a good value for the price. All four conductors in the cable show good continuity between the 3.5 mm plug and the RCA plugs, with no shorting between conductors. I cannot rate the sound quality because the cable did not work with the Insignia DVD player. I believe the failure is due to the Insignia player being designed with the ground (common) wire connected to the 3rd conductor from the 3.5 mm plug tip rather than the 4th conductor (ground & video wires reversed). I didn’t know this ahead of time, so I bought the wrong cable. I plan to buy a “Video AV Component Adapter Cable Replacement for TCL TV, 3 RCA to AV Input Adapter” (UPC 712491634878) to test this theory.

Didn't work for my Sony Camcorder - ground connection in wrong place
I would have thought that "everyone" used ground as the outside connection, so I figured this cable was correct, but apparently some devices expect ground on the second ring and video on the outside.I assume there is some historical reason why there are two standards, but I wish we could get rid of the "other" standard. One thing that might specify the standard if you don't have a volt meter is that my wire with the ground in the "wrong" place is it has yellow plastic separators rather than black separators on the 1/8th inch plug.

Had to kludge up cable to make it work with a Sony TV
I bought this product to connect my ancient VHS VCR to my new Sony Bravia TV ( XBR-55X900F ).Initially it didn't work as there is no ground connection.I did some experimenting and connecting the Yellow jack to a shield (ground) made the cable work and display a decent picture. Text is so-so, but that is Sony's fault. In any case the Red jack goes to Video out & the White jack goes to Left Audio. You don't get stero sound with this cable. If this will satisfy others, then the easiest way to fix the problem is to have a few inches of solid copper wire (18 gage or such).Wrap one end around the pin coming out of the yellow jack and the other end around an unused RCA jack shield or some other metal part so the connection is properly grounded. Having done that my VCR and yours should work properly.Other reviewers have pointed out that therre are other cables which don't have to be futzed with to work.

Does not work as intended in my situation.
A few issues with the cable: Plugging in as expected does not produce any video. As a test, I plugged the cable in a different combination. If the red connector is used in the video out port with the other cables connected, an unstable image is produced on the television. Perhaps my particular setup is incompatible with the way in which the cable was intended to be used, however if that's the case, the description of the product is not clear enough. Based on some quick reading, it's the way in which the ground is designed that is causing it to not behave as needed when hooked up from the VCR/DVD to the television.
