This book is fascinating. It depicts ‘all about’ Japanese life in rich detail with beautiful pictures and great writing. Being Japanese we can guarantee the authenticity. For us it has always been extremely difficult to talk to our friends what life in Japan is like, beyond samurais and sushi. Now we have this wonderful book which would make a perfect gift for our friends. Both adults and kids can enjoy this book. There are activities such as origami, making mochi, learning to writing Japanese characters that they could do together. The printing is really good too.

This children's book about Japan is very informative with lots visual elements. It reads very easily as well.

There is enough information in the book, so that it will appeal to interests of different children.My grandson loves songs, hiragana and geography. He is seven years old and was able to read a lot of the information by him self.

Our 9 yr old grandson who is obsessed with Japan found it facinating and a great learning tool!

This book was on our Great Grandson's Christmas list. Just today our Granddaughter told us that they are being sent back to Okinawa by the Marines. This Great-Grandson was born there and he is so excited to be going back to the place of his birth. Our Grqnddaught said he is pouring over this book about Japan! This series is absolutely amazing! We highly recommend all of the books in this series! These books are full of great ideas and are a great way to teach culture!

Our son has become really interested in Japan and the Japanese culture. He is not a big reader unless it relates to one of his few interests. We bought this book for him and he loves it! He is a teenager, but really appreciated all the information and pictures it provided. This was a great starter information book for him as other culture books for older teens and adults don't always break things down to help you understand the background to build the interest. He has enjoyed sharing what he knows with some of our neighbors younger kids and showing them some of the pictures and such in the book which they think is really cool. Great starter book for children and teens who may be interested in learning more with just reading boring text about a country.
