game-changer for my daily routine

I recently installed the InSinkErator H-HOT150SN-SS Instant Hot Water Dispenser in my kitchen, and it has been a game-changer for my daily routine. This dispenser provides hot water instantly, which is incredibly convenient for making tea, coffee, or even speeding up meal prep. The installation process was straightforward, and the unit fits neatly under the sink without taking up too much space. The satin nickel finish on the dispenser faucet looks sleek and modern, complementing my kitchen decor beautifully. One of the standout features is the adjustable temperature control, allowing me to set the water temperature to my preference. The hot water is delivered consistently and quickly, which saves me time and energy compared to using a kettle or microwave. The dispenser is also energy-efficient, as it only heats the water when needed, reducing overall energy consumption. The tank capacity is sufficient for my household's needs, and I appreciate the safety features that prevent accidental dispensing of hot water.Overall, the InSinkErator H-HOT150SN-SS Instant Hot Water Dispenser is a high-quality and reliable product that adds convenience and efficiency to my kitchen. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their kitchen tasks with instant hot water access.

Perfect for teas!

The media could not be loaded. I love, love, love! Pressure is good, I love that the handle you have to push it back instead forward I think that's great for safety reasons. It comes out hot! You can adjust the temp. I don't have it all the way I don't think it's needed as it comes nearly like boiling water. Super convenient. I've received lots of compliments. I got the brushed nickel to match my kitchen faucet. Performs well, no noise at all, buttons are simple. It's my first instant hot faucet and I would highly recommend to those who are thinking about purchasing one. My plumber installed it so I can't give no pointers there. But I love it, it's perfect!

Instant Hot Water

These devices initially seemed like an extravagance to us. The first one we had was part of a new house package we bought. Through our experience we have come to depend on these Instant Hot Water Heaters. We are now on our third or fourth unit, the last couple being Insinkerators. While the heaters work very well and reliably, the failure point seems to be the flow control valve which eventually starts to leak after10 or 12 years.Without the leaking valve issue, I would have rated it at a 5 Star.

Important—you will need to provide a 1/4” brass nut & ferrule!

First off—we are not plumbers, so we watched videos on the installation process and this unit was replacing an older model. It seemed pretty easy. It was NOT. After unplugging the old model, we found that we could not reuse the brass nut and ferrule that attaches the copper tube to the water source. The instruction manual says (on page 10), that one is provided. We called the AnswerLine, waited on hold for a while, and finally were told it doesn’t come with it, but because it says one is provided, they would send us one and would take 10 business days to get it. We didn’t want to wait, so a trip to the hardware store and thankfully, our local Ace Hardware had one left. Then we had a problem with the under-counter decking. The HOT150 comes with a plastic spacer that would not fit under the counter and the rubber gasket was too soft and would get bunched up. So we had to get a chisel and chip out part of the wood decking under the granite countertop in order to get into it better. (Our granite installer had put the sink/faucet and old hot shot in a few years ago and we could see that he had chiseled out a section for the old gasket. Also note, since granite is so heavy, they have to have a thicker decking to hold it up. There is still room but it might be very tight, depending on how close it is to the edge.) Well, the big spacer was still too big, so we just put the rubber washer and the old gasket over it, pushed it up so it was sealed, fit the mounting plate on, then screwed in the long nut. It worked! No leaks! We were happy. It’s a great product! But I wanted to be sure to share a couple issues that caught us by surprise.

Another InSinkErator poor design flaw. Leaky pipe under the sink.

This is the third InSinkErator hot water system I've had to replace in five years. The first one had the handle break off. The 2nd one, from just over a year ago, was the HOT100 model (very similar to this one) and the push button switch jammed and we could never unjam it to turn off the flowing hot water. The tank was still good so we decided to take a 3rd chance and bought this newer twist handle model to replace the HOT100 because we could keep and use the old tank still installed. This was a mistake to trust InSinkErator a third time. We swapped out and replaced the faucets fairly quickly and then turned on the water. Sure enough, water starts spraying from a small pinhole leak under the sink where the copper tubing is welded inline with a blue PVC tube. I had to uninstall the faucet to see that the FACTORY WELDED copper joint had a small pinhole crack. POOR quality work. Not only that but I compared this HOT150 design with the older HOT100 design and InSinkErator tried to save two dollars per product by using this crappy factory weld job instead of using the more secure and safer double copper compression fitting like on their older HOT100 model. Essentially, they reduced their manufacturing costs but then passed the higher risk of product failure along to the customer. You can take your chance with this model. It is a great design ABOVE the sink. However, below the sink is a risk. If you happen to get a good one that doesn't leak then make absolutely sure that you never bump your undersink garbage can or other items into the copper piping hanging below the back of the sink. You're likely to cause a crack in the WEAK copper welding and possibly create a new water leak. Oh, and plan on a possible quick drive to the hardware store. InSinkErator Quality Control didn't include the necessary copper compression fitting for us to hook this up right out of the box as instructed.
