Q: Is this made in the USA?

Under the ingredients list on the bag is a statement that it is "Manufactured and guaranteed by Nestle Purina Petcare Company, St Louis, MO 63164". The Purina website (https://www.purina.com/how-can-we-help/faq#/our-dog-and-cat-food-products) states that "99% of Purina pet food products sold in the U.S. are manufactured in our own facilities in the U.S.". However, the same site also states that "The vast majority of ingredients used in Purina brand products are sourced from the United States. As with other food companies, we do source a limited amount of ingredients from China. These ingredients, which are primarily essential nutrients, such as taurine and B vitamins, are not commonly available in the USA or other countries in the quantities we need." So, you can be fairly certain that the food is manufactured in the USA, but with at least some ingredients imported from elsewhere, including China. The woman from whom I got my dog said she was feeding her (the dog) Purina Pro Plan puppy food, and I've fed her Purina Pro Plan Focus Small Breed since she was old enough to stop eating the puppy food. I briefly tried another brand and my dog had gastrointestinal problems until I switched her back to Pro Plan Focus. She turned three this summer and is in apparent good health. Like many others, I try to avoid food products made in China.

My dachshund ate Science Diet but not great. She loves the pro plan but I’m not feeding the picky kind.
