Q: Even though they say the filters don't need to be replaced can you buy replacement filters for this product?

the honeycomb filter are permanent! This air purifier use static to trap microparticles. That's why there's all those holes. After a few months you should rinse it in water. You will be surprised how much dirty it sucked up. I've had a few of this fan over the last many years, and performance go back to day 1 after you wash it. Word of caution: when taking out unplug so you don't get zapped by the built-up charges

Q: does it produce ozone

I use it in a live/work studio that is near trains & grain silos. My room is 850 sq. ft w/14 ft. ceilings ...FAR EXCEEDING WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED FO ...it works grand and my sinus/eustachian infections are NO MORE.

Q: How well does this work for getting rid of cigar smoke? If I have a evening cigar could this clean it up by morning?

While this will get rid of smoke, we would also advise using the optional K pre-filter, as it is made to get rid of odors as well and will help remove the smell of the cigar from the air. Q: Fine dust accumulates on the exit ports of the fan, even with two carbon pre-filters on the intake. This means it isn't filtering well, right?

I have my purifier in my bird room and there is always lots of bird dander. I have dust accumulation all over my purifier and clean it once a week. I believe this is normal because I have owned many purifiers and they all have dander/dust on the exit ports. This is the best purifier of all my previous purifiers. Would buy again.
